We are pleased to share some additional information about the enhancements coming to our ESG Risk Ratings product, following the teaser communication sent on May 26.
Beginning in May 2024, we are releasing significant enhancements to the ESG Risk Ratings that will make our research more impactful and valuable, empowering clients with clearer insights into ESG risks.
More specifically, these changes will:
- Improve how we capture Material ESG Issues by enhancing our assessment of water, critical resource use, and data privacy related risks.
- Make our methodology more transparent (an updated methodology document will be available in Q1 2024).
- Capture major global events via systemic event indicators.
Please note, these are enhancements to the specific thematic areas listed above and the process of how we assess risk through our Material ESG Issues will remain the same.
To provide as much information as possible, we've prepared (1) a detailed change summary document and (2) an online information hub where you can access the latest information about these changes, including an overview of the enhancements brought to the thematic areas and bite-sized explainer videos.
The hub will be updated on an ongoing basis, and will serve as your go-to resource for all information regarding the enhancements.

WHAT TO EXPECT
As you will see in the above materials, these enhancements aim to provide an effective transition from our distinct Corporate Governance product toward our ESG Risk Ratings.
